A Pan- African Inspired Design

I was very lucky to find a kitenge material that was stained with  a pattern that literally  looks like a cut-off from the Kenyan flag colors. Within a whisk we fused it with black and red colored jersey material. What you see is the female black version of one of tees.

Having been born in Kenya and grown up in different parts of world am not the patriotic type yet like a friend whisper to me, everyone comes from somewhere no matter how wonderful or doleful it is, its home and somehow I've begun finding peace with Kenya among all its contradictions.

Inspired by the native maasai blanket, this super soft baby blanket that can also be used as a baby carpet is one of our favorite garments. This wonderful item is a warm blanket for your baby and also a soft play-mat.

 On the outside it features a heavy rough material that breaks the cold and wind. It's especially nice in winter and springtime or Fall when a more moderate warmer blanket is needed. This wrap is hand constructed with great care from quality polar fleece.

So warm and comfortable that you'll possibly want several colors and designs. 

This blanket will fit babies up to 18 months old. It is great for walks or jogs outside with your little one. It will keep your baby warm on those chilly days or evenings!  

Indoors it can also be used as a baby carpet or play-mat that allows for a soft warm playground, as well in summer and spring picnics can be used as a picnic blanket, cause of its strong exterior, the material is able to withstand lots of different grounds.

One of the most outstanding polar fleece maasai blankets that I have ever offered....this lovely garment really stands out in the crowd. Vibrant colors of red, green, yellow and blue in a native maasai  design, make this blanket/wrap an eye catcher. And, it is constructed from premium polar fleece. This is by far one of my most favorite blankets/wraps.

It's a handsome, generous blanket/wrap rectangular in shape, measuring approximately for small:  width 38 inches and length 58 inches whilst the large width 58 inches and length 76 inches

Shawl, picnic blanket, baby carpet, travel blanket whatever you want to call this warm, fleecy garment, it is wonderful to wear/cover as a warm wrap or to keep handy in the car for travel, to take to picnic (spring, autumn or winter), to the farm/ranch or anywhere it might be on the chilly side. Also great to keep in the media room for watching tv on cool evenings. One of the beauties of this garment is that the both sides  are strong and will last for a good period depending on how you use it, especially for kids you may see them use it from toddler to early teens. And can be used for both intimate and public occasions

Makes a wonderful gift as one size fits most--great for any baby, child, young, senior and in-between. Practical and economical. Can be hand washed or thrown into the washing machine and then into the drier and comes out looking good and ready to wear.

I am glad I did not get to be-friend every Tom, Dick and Harry when building a profile on Facebook, as it turns out, at least for me, nothing feels more lovely than when you open up your FB profile and check out a post on your timeline coming from a recognisable friend, and reads " Ma Sistren Nis rocking Rafiki Threads, blessings - at Mina fish Market, Abu Dhabi  — at Mina Fish Market, Abu Dhabi  "

So thats how the week began and through it all its been a roller coaster getting the brand on its feet, I believe this is the right time to get a Blog rolling that will help solidify.

First ever post, ENJOY!

Earlier in the month I was lucky to get a photoshoot done with the same T-shirt that is now making circuits, my model: Xjiro, Photographer: Jothee Kiiru, facilitated by Myndz Community.

The fabric is known as a Kikwebe that originates from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) previously known as Zaire which is  a central country in Africa. We fuse the fabric with a  100% Jersey cotton, black in color and is now only available in Medium (UK) Size for ladies.

The t-shirt goes well with darker bottoms, but has the capacity to try out even fancier looks especially if going out for one of those "cocktail parties ' perhaps a a solid color over half coat or even the infamous navy blue jeans, try it out and tag us on FB lets see.. :)
